29th March 2017

Today the Prime Minister and the UK Government invoked Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty.

This decision seems to be based on deceptions and lies and on false trade and false economics; and not very wise.

The Prime Minister and the UK Government together with certain media have constantly been telling us that this is what the people want - 'The Will of the People'.

About 27% of the population (over a quarter) did not vote.  This is a large proportion of the population and they CAN NOT and SHOULD NOT be simply ignored in a matter of such importance as remaining in / leaving the EU; which will have an enormous impact for this generation and generations to come.

The only wise assumpution to make about the 27% is that they are happy to remain in the EU as this is the current default, the baseline and they did not actively vote to leave the EU.

This 27% together with the 48% of the 73% of the population that voted to remain in the EU FAR, FAR outnumber the 52% of the 73% of the population that voted to leave the EU.

So, in fact 'The Will of the People' is actually to REMAIN in the EU and not to leave; contrary to the spin doctors, certain media, the UK Government and the Prime Minister.

Many people voted to leave the EU based on lies and deceptions.

One of the main lies / deceptions was that the NHS would have money put into it instead of money being passed to the EU.

There was even a bus with this information driven around the UK to promote this.

It now appears that all the people that were saying that the money given to the EU would be given to the NHS have now said that this will not happen.

The Prime Minister and the UK Government are telling us about the benefits for trade and the economy.

Any benefits for trade and the economy, however, are not for all of us.  In fact, for most of us it is the opposite.

What affects all of us, whether we are: all of us are poorer because the value of the pound has fallen, which means prices have and will rise including things that we need e.g. food.

What is more IMPORTANT is that we will all lose some of our FREEDOMS; to travel, live, work, study and trade freely within the EU.

This is a VERY, VERY BIG thing because being part of the EU makes our world bigger and more accessible.  We do not end up in inglorious isolation.

Not everyone makes use of these FREEDOMS but it is not wise or fair to restrict these FREEDOMS for the next generation and future generations or for the millions that currently make use of these FREEDOMS.

There will always be some sort of trade and economy; whether we are in the EU or whether we are not in the EU, whether there is a Conservative government, a Labour government, a Liberal Democratic government or if there is a coalition, but people's FREEDOMS sometimes take years, decades even generations to be gained and once gained they should not be easily thrown away.

If we start having our FREEDOMS restricted then we start turning away from freedom and start moving towards slavery.

Already there are many families where all adults are working but are deemed to be in poverty.

This IS modern day slavery.

In the past, slaves did not get paid but were provided with some form of food and shelter.

Today, people are paid but not provided with food and shelter and yet for more and more people the amount they earn is not enough for food and shelter.

So more and more people are simply becoming slaves and restricting FREEDOMS will simply make more and more people into slaves.

While the Prime Minister and the UK Government by leaving the EU gains power, we have our FREEDOMS restricted.

It is IMPORTANT not to forget that every year we celebrate 'Remembrance Day'.  A day when we remember the fallen Heroes from various wars.

It seems that the Prime Minister and the UK Government have forgotten why we remember the fallen.

We remember the fallen because of their ultimate sacrifice to protect people's LIBERTIES and FREEDOMS; something which the Prime Minister and the UK Government are not only happy to give up but are also using in their negotiations.

The Prime Minister and the UK Government instead of protecting our FREEDOMS will probably restrict our FREEDOMS.

There is a big possibility that people in the UK and within the EU will be displaced and families may be split.

This sort of thing only happens when there is a war or if hatred and destruction are allowed to grow and fester.

Hate crime is on the rise.

People and families from the EU who have made their homes in the UK may be forced to leave.

People and families from the UK who have made their homes in the EU may be forced to leave.

Is this acceptable in the modern world?

So what can we do?

It is VERY IMPORTANT that we do not forget our FREEDOMS; even if they are to be restricted.

We must maintain HOPE that our FREEDOMS will not be restricted but if they are restricted then we must maintain HOPE that one day they will be returned to us.

We need to STAND TOGETHER.

One way is to keep on lobbying our local MPs to remind them of our FREEDOMS and the FREEDOMS of our EU friends and for MPs to constantly bring the issue of our FREEDOMS up in Parliament.

Another way to STAND TOGETHER is to be visible.

For this reason there is a FREEDOMS PACK.

We can KEEP THE LIGHT ON and REMEMBER OUR FREEDOMS by: As individuals we have a choice.  We can do nothing; in which case we should not later complain if we have our FREEDOMS restricted OR we can do something.

As a MINIMUM we can share this information via social media (Facebook, Twitter etc...); make it viral, trend it, talk about it.

If we feel MOTIVATED we can put up posters, hand out leaflets, create events etc...

If we feel PASSIONATE about our FREEDOMS then we can use the FREEDOMS PACK to be visible; at work, at university / college, socially etc...

If we forget our FREEDOMS then ultimately we become slaves.

Great countries and civilizations always go forward by promoting FREEDOMS, LIBERTIES and HARMONY, not hate, destruction and restrictions.

Peace and prosperity should be for all.

KEEP THE LIGHT ON!

REMEMBER OUR FREEDOMS!
